Rao Research has been awarded an NSF SBIR Phase I grant under the Div. of Industrial Innovation & Partnership Program, Directorate for Engineering. Under this grant Rao Research is developing an advanced prototype of a portable system to rapidly verify the uniformity and specification compliance of asphalt binders for quality control (QC) and verification testing purposes. Rao Research has been awarded FHWA project DTFH6115R00021, titled Quality Assurance Data Analysis as a Leading Indicator for Infrastructure Condition Performance Management. Dr. Chetana Rao, PI, will lead this project. The objective of this project is to examine QA and other as-built data collected during construction and develop effective processes for incorporating this data as a leading performance indicator within an agency’s pavement management system to support performance management and highway investment decisions.
